Bowron Lakes - Canoe Tripping Preparation Course (Currently Full - Taking names for the waiting list)
September 9 and 10th on the Tandem Moving Water on Chilliwack River, plus April 14th and 15 - Overnight on the Harrison and Fraser Rivers.
Cost $100 per person per day plus GST.
Combined Recreational Canoeing Association of BC Movingwater Level 1 & Tripping Leader Courses
This course is to prepare teachers and people working with youth, for taking their students on extended overnight canoeing trips such as the Bowron lakes. Candidates should be strong paddlers and have canoeing experience. Please see here for more information
Rental canoes are available.

Prerequisites: Minimum 16-hour First Aid (can be wilderness) plus CPR Certificate, River Rescue Training,Leave No Trace training, Minimum of Paddle Canada Intermediate Lake Tandem skill certification or equivalencies, Paddle Canada Advanced Canoe Tripping skill certification or equivalencies, Significant Canoe Tripping experience in a wide variety of conditions and locations, Minimum 4 multi-day canoe trips, two of which must be in within the last year, Prior Paddle Canada instructor training (eg. September 30th and October 1st - 3rd Annual West Coast SUP Symposium - Put on by Tashii Paddling, this is a great event for those who want to learn how to SUP surf or improve their skills.
Recreational Canoeing Association of BC Lakewater Level 1 & Paddle Canada Intro Tandem and Solo Instructor Combined Course - October 11th (Evening) 14th and 15th - Coquitlam - Buntzen Lake $220
This course, is for teachers and people working with youth, who are experienced paddlers, and wish to receive Canoe Instructor certifications and be able to certify their students. It will cover the competencies and content for the new RCABC Lakewater Instructor Level 1 course. This course certifies successful candidates to teach RCABC Lakewater Level 1 and 2. It will also include the Paddle Canada Intro Tandem and Solo Instructor course which allows successful candidates to teach PC's Intro, Canoeing Basics and Waterfront Skills. Candidates should be strong paddlers and have experience paddling both Tandem and Solo. The course fee does not include the membership fee for either organization which must be paid prior to the course.

RCABC Lakewater Level 2 Instructor /Paddle Canada Advanced Lakewater Instructor This course allows successful candidates to take RCABC instrucotr courses in other disciplines and is the top level of Lakewater Instructor. It will be combined with the Lakewater Level 1 course and dates as well as May 2nd and 9th (Evening), 12th and 13th - Coquitlam - Buntzen Lake $260 plus GST. (includes Exam). The course fee does not include the RCABC membership fee which must be paid prior to the course. Successful candidates will be able to take their Level 2 SUP Instructor Course.
